Default Pulled the trigger

I had decided that the time was not right to buy this car but then the seller made an offer I couldn't refuse. Car will hopefully ship next week. Passed PPI with flying colors. To quote the wrench who did the PPI: It has high miles, but it's been well cared for.

Now all I need to do is sell my 993. I really wish I could keep both. (I guess I will until April, when I will put more effort into selling it.)

Default 996 C4S

I would think $30-35,000 would be a deal with good PPI. Check the coolant for any sign of oil. I am replacing my 3.4 L engine in my 01 996 with 57,000 miles on it. Perhaps the 3.6 L engine will not have this problem

DMW,
Do you have the 993 posted anywhere? I'd like to see it.

Default 993 for sale

I can't figure out how to post a link to it from here, but it's posted over in the 993 forum. I just posted a new picture so it's near the top right now.

These cars will go high miles, you say the price is decent...go for it. This isn't your first P car so you already know what to expect . I think it sounds like a very reasonable deal for you. Concgats!

Yeah, I don't see a problem with the miles, either--I'd worry more about whether it was taken care of or not, and the PPI suggests that it was. If 81k miles is "too many", I might as well sell my 996 right now because mine will have that many in just a year or two.

I always get a kick out of the guys who say "oh, that's too many miles" in one thread and then say "oh, that's too few miles" in another thread. I have been on this Forum for almost 3 years now and no one has ever offered the "correct" number of miles to put on a Porsche per year.

Not only that, but they tell people to buy the newest one they can afford. If we all followed "the rules", about 90% of us wouldn't be here. I didn't even bother to get a PPI done on my C4, mostly because it had a new engine/warranty and I'd spoken to the guy that installed the engine, who happens to be the same guy that would have done the PPI (small dealership).

No problems so far in the first year, unless you count $228 to completely redo my trunk latch. Somehow I don't think that would have come out in the PPI anyway...
