the reason i asked is because i knew i would have received a ton of photos , i presently have carrera in black on basalt black. With the photos i know what i like but what a warm response. thank you guys it was helpful.

911 = less weight, more horses .

Using that logic, "no badge" = even less weight (the horses stay the same)

Actually, I find it interesting that you say that, because coming from a previous sports car that weighs quite a bit less than my 996, I've vowed to not modify my car in any way that will add weight. There are tons of carbon fiber mods that can be done to the interior and exterior of the car, but I've ruled out the following types for the following reasons:

1) Any piece that's an overlay or applique-type of carbon fiber seems pointless, as it will actually ADD weight to the car when the whole point of carbon fiber is to REDUCE weight.
2) Any piece that completely replaces another part (exterior mirrors, etc.) reduces the weight but costs an obscene amount of money.

Not the topic, for sure, but seemed like as good a place as any to post it.

John - did you ever see Ray's last Poll? He set it up and then went back and added a couple more choices but forgot to have those selections enter into the total. So we got a total of 150% +/- percent of the votes tallied. Maybe Ray orininally learned to tally votes in Florida!

Ahh grasshopper. I figured out the problem.

If you create a poll where each voter is only allowed one selection, the numbers will add up properly (and Dell will not have to utter "who in Blue Hell, set up this stupid poll")

However if you allow multiple selections, the sytem tabulates against the total number of voters (not votes cast). In other words if four rennlisters vote, but two select two different options, the computer will still perform the calculation for the percentage of acutal voters that selected each option.

In my example above you could then have a total percentage that adds up to greater than 100% because two individuals selected more than one "option".

For example;

- Let's say I set up a poll and the sellections are "A", "B", "C", & "D"
- 2 people vote
- Person 1 selects "A" and "B", Person 2 selects only "A"

The results will read "A" 100%, "B" 50%, "C" 0%, "D" 0%

The way to interpret the results is 100% of the voters selected "A", 50% selected "B", 0% selected "C", 0% selected "D".

Get it? It make sense if you think about it (plus it has the side benefit of driving Dell mad!!)

Ray - I am not a stat-man like Dell, but I am very good with numbers and your explination makes perfect sense.

Also, I just couldn't pass up the chance to give you a little poke in the ribs for your last poll!

If you put the "911" badge on, from experience I'll guarantee that people will ask you if it's a Carrera.

Yeah, you are right. Shortly after I got the 996, I stopped for coffee one morning on the way to work and a couple of young guys parked next to me and came into the restaurant just as I was leaving. One of them asked me if that was my car and I said "Yes." Then he asked me if it was a 911 or a Carrera, and I said "Yes." He looked at me like I was crazy. Then, just to keep it simple, I explained it was a Carrera as opposed to a Targa or a Turbo. Then the look of "knowledge" (a.k.a. light bulb) appeared on his face along with a big smile, which seemed to indicate he appreciated the explination.

Carrera !
I think I've seen more ferraris with post-factory scuderia shields and debadged gallardos than I've seen porsches with non-standard rear logos!
