I got the car in last Friday; but, between an out of town trip, rain, and a million other lame excuses I haven't had a chance to take any good pictures.
The car is #590 out of 1963. The mileage was 8,396 and the car comes with a new CPO warranty. I'm the second owner.
This is my second 911. My first was a 1996 993 C4S I sold a couple of years ago. The difference between the two cars in sound, looks, etc. is amazing!
I did get some pictures of the car being unloaded....I promise to get some better pictures this weekend!
The easy answer is both of them because they are different cars!
There are many reasons that have been recounted in many other postings from people who are a lot more experienced than I am at categorizing the differences.
When pressed I have to admit that I actually prefer the 40th.
I love the look of the 993 and the sound of the air-cooled six is exceptional.
However, the 996 is MUCH more comfortable for my style of driving (street) and the extra power of the X-51 that is standard with the 40th is really appreciated.
I briefly thought about another 993. However, the newest ones are 10 years old now and I really wanted something with a warranty.
My choices when looking were a new 997 or a 996 that was "different". I decided on the 40th for the price, uniqueness, and looks!
