Default Difficulty Attaching a Front License Plate Bracket

I tried to figure this out a couple of times so that I wouldn't have to ask such a basic question but now I'm stumped. I purchased my 2000 - 996 several weeks ago. It did not have a front license plate bracket or holder. I have been front license "plateless" for these few weeks. I picked up a bracket over the past weekend but cannot seem to figure out how to attach it.

The bumper has two holes for the bracket but they are huge. Is there a piece I am missing that goes into the hole(s).

Embarrassed to even ask this.
Thanks,
Andy T

Yes, it's called an expanding nut (999.507.040.40). You'll need to buy two and make sure you're using the right size screws (900.143.151.02).

A little OT: I saw a thread a while back where someone had come across a front license plate bracket system that goes in where the tow hitch is at...anyone remember this and has a link for the item ????

That same subject has been driving me nuts for weeks--I only think about it when I'm driving the car.

I'm very interested in getting one of these, too, but I've never been able to find it through Google, and I'm not sure if I've ever seen them mentioned here.

I figure, when I get to 1000 posts, I'll think about an avatar and a sig... I keep waiting for an inspiration, but none have come.
