Default Bluetooth & Iphone Installed!

Thank you to all those who put up their installation instructions, I finished installing my AUX input and Bluetooth today.

Iphone: Used the Becker wires and Belkin parts. Works well for the Iphone with minimal noise.

Bluetooth: I chose the Parrot CK3000 Evolution since I did not want any visible screen, and so that I could mount it in my ashtray. My original microphone mounting location was in the factory spot on the cluster, but that produced very poor sound quality. To remedy the problem, I routed the wire up the A-pillar and over the headliner to a custom made mount on the visor plate. The results look and function great, and I can close the ashtray cover whenever I don't want to see the controls.

Thanks again,
Danny M

Danny,
Looks great! I am looking to do the same for an I-Touch so I do not need to add the bluetooth. Do you have any suggestions now that you have already done this? Thanks a lot. It looks great.

There isn't anything I would do differently. As far as dislikes, I wish the phone did not say "this is not an Apple product...: ever time I plugged it in. Also, there is some slight noise from ground looping, but not enough to bother me.

I do know there is another apple aux input a different company is selling that appears to be a simpler to install. I will put the name up as soon as I remember.

Also, I originally routed the aux input through the ashtray so that I could put the wire in it when not in use, but relocated it between the seat for the Bluetooth install.

Let me know if you have any specific questions, I would be happy to help you along

Ahh another tiptronic!

Can yo please send me the link for ordering the Belkin Aux parts? Did you lose the CD changer?

How would you compare this to the Dension Dice unit (with or with out the BT)?

Thanks.

Mickey,

Yes I did lose my CD changer, the aux input replaces that plug on the back of the radio.

As for the the Dension Dice unit, I am not familiar with how it works on the Porsche. I did have a Dension IceLink installed on my BMW X5.. I was able to control everything from the steering wheel/head unit, which was nice, but it was annoying having to use the Dension interface. Also, this Becker set-up ran about $40, where as the Dension for my BMW was $300.

Here is the link to the DIY (thanks Orient Express!)
