Hi Again!

I saw an ad in Excellence for I forge rims. They have a pic in there of a set of yellow and black rims on a speed yellow turbo.

I know it is subjective, but I love the look.

Anyone had any experience with I Forge?

Any other comments or suggestions would be appreciated also!

In a nutshell:

1. Heavy
2. Undisclosed offsets that are WRONG for the car (they won't give them out)
3. Not fully forged

pros:

they make pretty wheels (e.g. senekas)

they offer aggressive deep dish lip and they fit well

cons:

zero motorsport history

poor service

questionable quality especially their clearcoats

comments:

i couldn't care less if they're heavier than your wannabe pro driver nerd BBS magnesium wheels because boy do they look good and the iforged wheels are really not much worse than HRe. what HRE has is somewhat better customer service/support and a better name if that's your thing so go for those though they are pricier than your iforged wheels.

for great looking wheels with quality/motorsport experience to back it up, check out offerings from OZ, BBS, and Work. Champion offers pretty good looking lightweight wheels as well if saving weight is a priority for you. for me, i want a balance of great looks and quality.

I was a former I-forged owner myself.... but their customer service was poor and the clincher was that my Daytona (multi-piece wheels) that were supposed to be repairable were not. I ended up curbing a wheel and I-forged basically said I had to buy a new one...

I am now running Forgeline wheels (WC3P with chrome outer lip and gunmetal centers) and am very happy with them. Beautiful quality and true 3-piece wheels. You can even see the individual parts pricing and repair options on their website. Not sure on strength but they seem to be holding up very well on my daily driver... and the weight: 21lbs for 19x8" and 24lbs for 19x10".

it's strange ppl continue to ask same Q about wheels.
there are only a handful of good wheels, and most are $4k and over, a few are around $3k. if you do a seach, you will see what are GOOD wheels.

btw, stock wheels are actually very very good too.

yeah, I wouldn't go with HRE's... stick with the "real" wheel companies... BBS, Work, OZ, or even Enkei

Fikse also makes an excellent light weight but expensive forged 3 piece wheel. They are race tested and I found their customer service excellent as well.
