Default Know where I can get a chrome thingy?

I was driving at a reasonable speed (~90) and hit the headlight washer instead of the cruise control. The washer came up and the chrome cover flew off. I found a place that sells the whole washer deal but I just need the cover an it looks like it snaps on (and off apparently). This is the missing bit. Any ideas?

About $30 from Suncoast, as I discovered. Are these the most useless designs, or what?

Thanks Simon,

I didn't see it on their website but I'll give them a call. Does it just pop on like it seems?

You'll have to tug out the remains: the new component has the rubber bits, too.

This happened to me tonight..but I was only going about 50 m.p.h. Dammit. Looks like it might be covered under CPO...if not...no biggie. Looks like I can pop a new disc back in byhaving someone engage the washers while holding the disc above it to snap back in. Doesn't look like any internal pieces broke at all.

Awful engineering on that part...seems to fall off for a lot of us. Or maybe I was just going too fast? Oh well.

Oh that's what those silver disks are. All this time I thought they were pasties to cover her nipples!

Know where I can get a chrome thingy?

Go with stainless steel, chrome will peel off and chafe.

Update...finally got around to replacing this part today. What I thought would be somewhat of a pain ended up being a 20 second job. Yes...it's that easy. For anyone else, simply have someone engage the washers...while the washer is up....grab it with a needle nose pliers....then have the other person hold them for you.

Then....take a very small flat head screwdriver and carefully pry the plastic tab that holds the piece in...just enough to slide the old piece out. Be careful so you don't break the plastic tab when prying it. The simply slide the new piece right on. The tab then holds the new piece in place where the hose portion is ribbed. It's that easy.

Bye.

Jon,

Exactly what are we talking about here? If you re-read only the bolded words I am getting a totally different topic than replacing a chrome disk.

That first part reminds me of my wife's answer when I ask her if she wants to "fool around" for a half an hour. Her response is always "Yeah, but what are we going to do with the other 29-1/2 minutes?"
