Aren't the yellow calipers larger and a six piston set up? I took mine off to do them and sanded the blistering clear the dealership used to freshen them for the PO. They took awhile for paint to dry and could paint the Porsche letters.

Are there any problems rebuilding calipers that have been powder coated.
I know that you have to pull out all of the seals, powder coat, and then have them rebuilt. I thought i read a post once saying that it was some sort of problem getting the parts to properly rebuild the calipers. Is this true?
by the way RED IS BEST.

Russ,
Your picture is one of the nicest I've seen. There is already some red (the rear lights) on the car, so I go for red. Is this something you are going to do yourself or have done? if dyi please let me know how you proceeded. I don't want to paint the callipers but do want to paint the hub area between the rotor and the wheel. Very nice pic!

Black,--then you have to spend less time cleaning them. I suspect Porsche uses yellow on PCCBs because they generate so little dust. If you paint non-PCCB brakes yellow be prepared to spend a lot of time on them in the future.
Yellow--poseur....
Yellow--poseur....

My yellow brake calipers do not show dust hardly ever, 1 - I do not let it build-up, I keep my car clean, 2 - my calipers are detailed so that they are slick as the rest of the car by using polishes and waxes. So the issue with spending a lot of time cleaning is not an issue.
I used yellow calipers to go with the rest of my cars colour scheme...not to make it look like I have PCCB's. I mean what colour choices do I have: Black - could not see the calipers behind the black spokes, Red - I do not want to introduce a colour that is not in the car (except rear lights). So I went yellow but am I 'suppose' to follow the un-written rule that if I go with yellow calipers I have to have PCCB's....no. If you think I am a poseur because my calipers are painted yellow, then that's your opinion, will you then walk up to me if you saw my car and tell me I am a poseur trying to look like I have PCCB's when I don't, I don't think so, but you can see they are not PCCB's by the size of them. Just had a thought, if I bought PCCB's and had them painted a different colour, then what have I done

Remember it's just a colour and nothing more

As I said before in this thread...RED is the perfect colour for the OP's car

Yup. Red for sure. I did this on my zenith blue and my dad's old artic silver...it looked really good. My hint: use 400 grit sandpaper on the calipers before painting. I used the autozone high temp caliper paint, with high temp clear over the porsche decals and it turned out great. Scott.
