Default Look at this NEW 996 on Ebay

Air-Cooled brother needs your help.

I have started shopping hard for a 996 to compliment my 911. I am looking for something in the 20k miles range but came across this. What are the pitfalls when looking at a car that has basically no miles since 99? What do you think about this? Under 500 miles is pretty amazing but also would scare me due to lack of use (none).

Personally, if you want a low mileage car, I'd look for one in the 20 to 30k mile range -- at least then it's probably had an oil change or two and a service done to it. You will also probably save $10,000 or $15,000 by buying a car that has (slightly) more miles.

This is, of course, assuming that you plan on driving it. If your goal is to have the "newest" 1999, and you're going to park it in your living room, then you can't go wrong with this one!

The thing is its out of warranty now, so all the warranty work that would have been done in the first 20k is now your problem.

Ya you guys are right - someone needs to save her though! He said he would take 40K. I'll keep looking for a 20k mile car.

looks like a car that Sloan or Gladstone would pick up and sell for 60K to some clueless person.

That is crazy.....especially since the owner is selling it at this point. Great looking car, if I was in the market for a MKI 996, I would probably consider this one. That being said, I hadn't thought of all the small fixes that these seem to have needed in the first 10-20K miles that would now need to be done out of warranty...that could get expensive quickly.

The new owner better put some money aside for new hoses, belts, tires, seals, fuel filter, leather conditioner, engine sludge begone, etc.

Something is striking me as odd. Look at the tires in one of the pics. Look like Yokohama's or some other brand. The rims look stock.

Why would a 911 with 500+ miles have different tires?

Those tires don't look like the original tread pattern. I guess he changed them out from developing flat spots?

What a loser. Collect 1:18 scale models if you want a "collection".

500 miles in 8 years? ****, even he has Phil beat!
