Default 996 PCM problems

Hello all!! New to posting on this forum and wondered if anyone could help.
Have got the following problems with the PCM (the car is out of warranty)and I wondered if someone can advise and/or point me in the right direction:
1:Telephone cuts out, mid call, intermittently (v annoying!). At times it works without fault.I have tried a different SIM card (different tel number) but same problem
2: When I try to play the CD it says "No CD" but the CD magazine is full.
Greatly appreciate any thoughts or pointers.
PS: Car is 53 plate so presumably PCM2.
Gratefull for any help!

Redridge - no it's not pirate and have now sorted it by disconnecting the cables to the CD magazine and reconnecting! Agree that the phone isn't too good!

Hi ,
i had the same " no cd " issue on my pcm , it was the fuse for the cd player , it's located at the back of the pcm unit itself so you have to remove the unit to check it .
Hope this helps . For the info , i had the prob after the battery of the car went down and had to use the booster to start the engine .
See ya all and have fun
