Default Need Mechanic in NW Phoenix, AZ

I recently brought a 2001 Porsche out to my house in the Phoenix area and I need a recomendation on a reliable mechanic or garage in this area. I would prefer not to dealer with the dealer unless I have no other options. Does anyone have any recommendations.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave:

I'm in Chandler, which I know is far from you. If nothing is closer, I highly recommend Autobahn Autosport (http://www.autobahnautosport.com/) in Mesa on border with Tempe.

There are a couple of other rennlisters in our area, they may have other recommendations.

Good luck,
Dan

I have heard very good things about autobahn myself, I have only needed general maintenance myself and did it myself! I have taken it to the dealer a couple times, but have never needed a mechanic yet! What is the issue, are you just trying to get a thorough check up or a specific issue or question?

It might be two issues. The license plate lights are not working, fuse ok, but no current. I think the plugs are not connected, but doon't know where they are. Maybe between heat shield and bumper. Got a reply about using rennlist.org, so I need to register for that. Also, yesterday I blew the ac blower fuse twice, not sute what caused that.

Hey there, I have used Autobahn, and they did do great work for me. I had a valve spring let go in my 98 boxster a few years back, and they did the open heart on the car. Car was perfect afterwards, and they changed all the valve springs on both banks just for piece of mind.

Although I have used many independents in Arizona (becks, Stuggart southwest), my favorite BY FAR is Redline motorsports in tempe. The shop owner, Robert, is a stand-up guy, and you will not get a more knowledgeable mechanic at an independent (or dealer for that matter). Robert was a premier porsche tech before going out on his own. He also has all the necessary diagnostic equipment for our cars (I know Stuttgart, for example, does not have this equipment, as they focus on the earlier air-cooled cars). Redline's pricing is also very, very fair. The only problem you might run into at redline is that it can sometimes be hard to get in. Good luck.

Default AZ Mechanic

Wow, thanks for that information. Sounds like Redline is the place. I know it's far from me, but that I don't mind. I had an Audi and I used Sun Vally Imports, but I don't know how good they are on Porsche. They did a good job on my Audi.

Thanks guys.

Exotic motorwerks talk with Dan and Yalonda (602-840-3429) small shop 56th St and Thomas great prices and have been in the business for along time. I had them swap out my engines, re-flow my injectors and lots more. I do not trust shops easy, but they will have my business for along time.
