Default Cup Holder

I need to replace my in dash cup holder(2002 996 C4 Cab). Dealers price seems a bit excessive. Any recommendations. Worse comes to worse I can live without it...

Replace it with a cubby and get the ultimate cup holder. It actually has some utility.

Also, you might try the classifieds here, as I'm sure someone has an extra lying around.

The OP has a 2002. They DO NOT have the holes for the cupholders. Worst designed cupholders EVER. Broke my 2000 boxsters vent. DON'T USE THOSE THINGS!!

The cupholder style that clips to the side air vents don't work on 2001 up because the mounting holes went away in 2001. 2001 Porsche came out with the pop out style cupholders.

I have the oem cupholders that I just removed if anyone is interested in them. I just removed it so I could put the cubby in.

Another vote for the Ultimate cupholder.

Which bottle would you rather have slosh out or tip over....the one suspended from flimsy plastic hanging in front of the dash, above your stereo or AC controls and your gearshift or the one in a stainless steel cage sitting on the floor?

(Plus the ultimate cupholder will safely store a 44oz BigGulp....or so I've been told!

Yes the one I removed is the eom cupholder that was located in the top slot of the center console above the radio.
