Default GT3 monoball mount on C4S?

I have a 2003 C4S upgraded to PSS9 last year. I use the car 80% on track. I would like to have more -ve camber in the front and thinking about updage to monoball mount to gain extra -1 camber. I know TRG has the monoball for around $600/pair, a bit much. The GT3 monoball is a lot cheaper, $340/pair. Anyone uses a GT3 front monoball (996.343.011.91) with PSS9 or other coilover on a 996 C4S? Is the GT3 monoball mount has all metal bushings? Your help is greatly appreciated!

The factory Porsche parts used on GT3 and GT3 Cup (with studs relocated) have solid mounting monoballs with no rubber. The only rubber on the mount is the rubber boot on the underside to keep dirt/water out of the monoball. The mounting studs can be relocated (like Cup cars) to allow for additional camber. I think if you relocate the studs you can get approx. 1 degree more IIRC.

It's more than 1 degree. THe max I could get BEFORE I rotated the strut mounts was -1.5 but after I was at -3.2.

Dell, just out of curiosity did you shim the lower control arms to get to -3.2? If so he may need to invest in the GT-3 lower control arms as well. I only had the front GT-3 suspension on my car for a day (not including control arms) and was only able to do some quick measuring. I can't find my calcs but I seem the remember the max on my C2 was around 2.4 degrees. This was done using an inclinometer with the stock suspension in place to get the max stock camber and adding the delta of the relocated stud distance to the center of the bearing. I can't remember that number exactly either but I seem to think the delta was around 0.5 inches along the centerline of the bearing.

The GT-3 setup was just too low for me. My car already scrapes on the concrete apron getting into the driveway. I just couldn't live with the ride height since mine is a daily driver. I really like your solution to the problem...buy both.

No shims. But -3.2 was the max I could get with rotating. If I need more I have to move to shims.

Buying both is really the ONLY solution!

Not to bring up old news, but has anyone actually done this successfully? The PSS10 upper ring doesn't fit on the GT3 mounts/plates and running the plate right on the strut seems like damage waiting to happen.

What is needed other than just the plates pictured? Any inserts or bits to fit into the monoball?

From what I can tell, you would ditch everything above the coil on the PSS setup and replace it with items 4-7 plus 2 in the pic. This would reduce the ride height dramatically, too much from what I can tell.

The cost on these parts would equal $248.78 or so if bought as OEM.
Any input would be great!

IIRC, there are few places that make top mount adapter plates to run PSS CO's with different top monoball setups.

I think this maybe one of them: http://www.patrickmotorsports.com/pa...96-343-020-k1/

Bought the Tarett stuff. They have a setup that bolts up to a PSS setup on a 4wd car, whereas the GT3 parts are for 2wd, the difference being that the angle of the struts are different with an axle in the way.

So, GT3 monoballs do NOT work on a C4S/Turbo.
A local race shop has seen the GT3 monoballs fail after a few years, and less if the car is tracked. The major downfall with these (aside from the short life) is that they are not serviceable like the Tarett units which can last twice as long and the monoballs are replaceable.

Now on to the clunky inner tie rods...
