What's your deductable?
Has it been called in yet?

You can't just stop the paint and clear coat in the middle of a panel.....you would see it no matter how good a match.......needs to be a logical place to stop or blend.
Dealer would not be my 1st choice.......the very best body shop would be mine.....always good to have a good relationship w/a good body shop

That blows....sorry to see that happen to you. I love my garage.

If it's any consolation, at least it's black....fairly easy to match, as opposed to arctic silver.

Best of luck.

don't take it to the dealership and ask for their referrals. best bet is to ask around this site so rennlisters can give u the 411 on who's got the skills to earn your billz.

sorry to see the visuals. absolutely sux but hey life could be worse. they could've dented your saab or some radical car like that. u can tell the ladies up in da club tonite... "u thought u were having a rough day... someone dented my PORSHHHHHA"

Try the dent dude first. NOTHING to lose. They will tell you whether they think they can fix it or not.

OUCH!!! That wasn't what I had imagined from your description....sorry, hurts to see that.
Looks like dentless could be out as an option, looks more a bodyshop job.
It's hard to tell from the pic, but yeah, no harm checking with paintless dent removal first.

How 'bout that dry ice and and a hairdryer bit? Would love to see that work on that. Fat chance I'd think tho.

Yeah! I would try that out if it was me, nothing to lose if you are going to the bodyshop.
But don't try that if there is a chance for paintless dent removal, might damage the paint.

Whoa! Sorry to see that! I doubt any of those $50 dent removal places can handle that.

That's awful! Make sure it goes to a very reputable place and that you are totally satisfied when finished. I am not an expert by any means, but I agree on the dent being a bit much for the paintless guys. Best of luck!

body guy here... don't bother with the dent guy... the reason being is the sheet metal in that area is stretched out. that quarter panel sheet metal is really thick as well. the proper way to repair that dent is the following:

1.) remove fender
2.) remove door
3.) remove rocker panel molding
4.) remove tail light
5.) remove rear deck lid
6.) remove "ski-rack"
7.) remove quarter panel glass
8.) remove "center section"sealing strip
8.) remove door frame/quarter glass molding (rivets have to be drilled out)
9.) peel back front/rear windshield molding
10.) remove sill plate
11.) remove door hinge
12.) remove door molding

- basically, all sheet metal that is part of the quarter panel has to be exposed.

13.) grind off paint in area of dent
14.) pull dent out (various methods involved)
15.) shrink down sheet metal (process of heating cooling metal)
16.) filler/primer/paint.etc.....
17.) clear coat quarter panel, rocker, door sill, a pillar, etc.
18.) wet sand...polish in 3 stages...
