Default Winter Storage

Long story short - I have a 2 car garage, one bay reserved for the 4S. But, have a new S4 on the way and would like to garage it, too. Problem is that my wife won't give up her bay for her 3 series this winter (am I'm not suggesting she should). I'm looking for a secure place to store the P-car for a few months during the winter in Montgomery County, north of Philly. Anyone got a space to rent or suggest secure storage rental for my car? Worst case - S4 spends a cold Philly winter outside.

Phil - you can send it down to my place in NC. I'll "store" it for you!
< Note to self: Contact Brad (99firehawk) to find out how to disconnect the speedometer cable. >

You are probably the only guy on Rennlist that won't have to do any pre-storage maintenance or preparation, because your car is already used to sitting in one spot, being neglected for week after week.

Seriously, have you checked into any of those storage places like U-Store or what ever they are called? That might be a relatively low cost solution. Some even have heated & cooled storage facilities. I don't know if you can store a car in the heated & cooled storage area though.

Around here, you can often find underground parking spots in condo buildings, where a unit owner doesn't have a car. They'll rent them out for peanuts, and you get the added benefit of security. Might be worth looking into.

What's wrong with keeping one of the car's outside? It's hardly cold in Philly, anyway. It should be driven regularly and having it at home will allow you do so, easily.

Unfortunately, not high enough. Otherwise would definitely go that route. Going to take Tim's advice and look into one of those self-storage places near me. At worst, I'll just leave the poor Audi out in the Philly winter, which is usually pretty mild.

Phil, I'll boot my wife's car out of the garage so that your car can spend the winter with mine. I'll make sure to make it feel at home, wrap it in a warm blanket and only take it out for donuts occasionally.

Wayne, seriously, I'll pay you to boot hers out of the garage, but there's no way I'm leaving you my keys!

I told my wife about this and after she finished frowning she said that you couldn't afford her rates.

I can hang on to it in Las Vegas. I think the dry heat would be better than storage. Plus, I can take it for a "gentle" ride once in a while. I might even do it for free just because I'm like that.

Winter Storage? Phil, I thought your car was in a constant year-round state of storage.

It's all relative - she's out of mothballs on the weekends and fast approaching 2300 miles. Can't get there soon enough
