Default Winter Wheel Recommendations Wanted

Yes, I know it's mid-summer, but I'm planning for the bad weather. I am thinking of buying a set of Blizzaks for the November-March period of limited driving.

To make life easier, I'd like to mount those tires on a set of inexpensive wheels.

Anyone have recommendations for winter wheels, or experiences to share?

Thanks,

CP

Thanks, rcg412, but I also have 17" wheels and I think I want to preserve the option of swapping tires, just in case.

I upgraded my summer wheels and tires to 18" turbo twists (bought from a list member with tires), and mounted snows on the stock 17s. There are alway wheels and tires for sale on this list.

I run a set winter Conti's on Boxster 17's because they are even thinner, and as we know about driving in the snow, thin is in. They don't look pretty, but they are quite practical, not to mention how outrageously cheap you can pick a set up for. People want to get rid of them so badly they may pay you...

I use Blizzaks on Carrera 17" wheels.

They work very well in snow and ice.

The only neg is the car looks silly with a full aerokit and skinny wheels. However, better safe than sorry.

I have Blizzaks on 17's as well. I bought them from somebody on this list that had upgraded to a 997. They have gotten me through two Chicago winters - I couldn't be happier.

I ran 17" Blizzak WS-50s on my Nissan 350Z and was very happy with them. Not very good for performance, but they did a great job in the snow and on ice.

"Used Blizzak LM25's on my C2 for 3 years (17 inch though on Porsche wheels). No complaints. Good in wet, dry, snow and ice.

I am thinking about the selling the set up b/c I sold the car and I don't like they look on the CS I replaced the 996 with. If anyone is interested let me know.
