Looking for stock 3.6 mufflers:
Thought I'd throw my hat in the ring for a set of these, in case anyone has a set in the garage. I'll continue to search the classified ads and eBay, but I've seen more than one person score a set for a good deal just by asking here.

Guys I have a set of 3.4 cans with original EOM tips for $250 plus shipping. The cans on e-bay are for $400.00 w/o tips. If anyone wants them please pm. I will ship anywhere in US. Just the tips alone are worth the money.

I know there is a mod for the 3.4 (MKI), but you will get a better sound from 3.6L mufflers and doing the MKII mode IMHO. Then you will have the sound I and others have
Post the link to the thread of the 3.4L mod in your response.
But I am not going to stop you from buying a set of 3.4 and doing the MKI mod to them as I know there are a lot of people on the forum with them available as you can tell. I even have a set but will be keeping them for a bit until I decide what to do with them.

I recall seeing a discussion thread either here or on RennTech where that guy did the J pipe MKI modification to a set of 3.4L cans and claimed that the sound was every bit as good as the MKII 3.6L cans. The MKI mod uses a smaller diameter J pipe and it's configured differently, but I've never heard or seen one in person. I know that there are a number of guys who have tried modding the 3.4L cans and most come back saying they're sadly disappointed with the results. It's almost unanimous for the guys with the 3.6L mod to say that they really like the sound and are very satisfied with the results.
I tried a side-by-side test of my MKII 3.6 mod against Loren's PSE mufflers and have to admit that the PSE's are much more refined and better sounding than the MKII modded ones. But since sound is subjective and it's too difficult to remember what they sounded like, once you're away from a PSE car, you'll never remember the difference and will still be very pleased with the sound of the MKII's.

Chuck - here is a link to a post by Waynesworld where he describes and shows a slightly different version of the MKI (J-pipe) mod. At the bottom of post # 1 he has listed "before" and "after" clips. In post #15 he added a few other sound clips. FYI.
