Default How can I adjust the bass subwoofer volume?

I've noticed that the ever-so-clever super-duper Bose system boosts the subwoofer volume when I lower the top on my '02 cab. Problem is, it's way too much bass. I've got it turned down to the minimum on the head unit, to -7, but even that is too much for me with the top down (it's bearable with the top up). Is there any adjustment that I can make to the amplifier in the trunk, or am I going to have to kludge something in there? And if a kludge is in order, does anyone know which color wires go to the subs?

Yeah, I know I should just drive without music and listen to the beautiful exhaust, but when you're in city traffic, stuck at a light, it's nice to have some tunes.

Thanks all!

Michael

I just searched the schematic of the bose installation quite closely. I dont see any way it knows if the top is up or down.

Do you have the "Loud" switch on in the headunit? You can try turning "Loud" off and re-balancing tone after you turn it off.

Doesn't help much, but in my after-market system I installed a **** to adjust the sub separately.

I agree...there is a loud button on the right side once you press the tone controls....push it to see if it's on....it probably is.

Focals will fit with some minor modifications to the OEM speaker covers. Do a search on Focals to gind a DIY about this.

Yeah! This is what I need, but for the stock system. To the other guys - yes, I made sure that the "loud" button is off, but thanks for the idea.

THANKS GOTTA the problem with the infinities is that they must be free air as once housed in the plastic pods they distorted - - badly (the size was ok though) - - will the focals perform ok i the pods?
thank you

Could you tell me which color wires go to the sub speakers? I could just put in a rheostat there and adjust the volume without a big hack.

Thanks!

Michael
