Default 996 mechanics in Fairfield/Westchester counties?

Anyone know of good Porsche mechanics (competent, honest, able to do custom work) around Farifield county of Connecticut? It would be very nice to know one before being in serious need for one.

Thank you...

I found a great indy mechanic in Norwalk. He used to run the porsche tuning shop with another guy on Westport Ave across the street from the Dodge Dealership. Now he has his own shop on East Ave in the Shell gas station near the East Norwalk train station off 95 Exit 16.

He races porsches up at Lime Rock and is honest and upfront. When you pull up to his garage, he had a few 944 and 968s in the lot that are project cars.

My throttle body went last week. He found a racing throttle body and gave me a good deal on it. Now my car is the fastest I have ever felt.

There's no one better with Porsche than Jim Newton in Canton, CT. Shop is located on Rt. 44, near Avon. His indie shop # is 860-693-0278.

So I have an appointment on Wednesday with Glenn in Norwalk. I am just getting the plugs and tubes changed (pre-purchase these were known to be leaking). If anyone else has any feedback on this shop, it would be much appreciated!

thank you, and be fast

befast,

Please let me know how it works out. He never gets to the garage until after 11AM. He is the only person who works on p-cars. His crew will work on other car makes.

Hey,

I'll be interested to hear how it goes as well, I am in the area and it would be great to have an honest, dependable indie that doesn't take 45 min to get to.

Good luck

I just made an appt for Glenn to do my oil change Friday with Castrol 5-50. Seems like a good guy on the phone.

We are trying to find a trustworthy lower Fairfield County Porsche Indy. All other suggestions require at least a 45 minutes drive with no traffic and it is tough to schedule just for an oil change.

Glenn was with the Porsche Racing team behind Speed Technik in Norwalk. That is where he got his experience.

Speed Technik was very unhelpful and snooty when I approached them before finding Glenn because they get lots of referrals from Fairfield Porsche.

Right, The Porsche specialists in the rear of what is now speed technik was where Farnbacher Loles got Spencer *** from, I thought the whole rear garage moved to Danbury, it's good to know that Glenn stayed behind for us lower Ffld county people. I agree 45 min ride (without traffic) borders on ridiculous for an oil change, that for my Boxster was still 225 or 250.

Robert,

How much is Glenn charging for an oil change on the 996 and boxster? Have you negotiated with him that you have both and may be bringing him both cars to work on if he does a good job?

The best part about his location is that is a minute away from the East Norwalk train station so you can drive there and take the train to work.

he quoted $140 for oil change, seems very good to me. I did not negotiate, I believe that if he does good work at a reasonable price, for me or anyone that walks into his shop, then he earned my business.

I hope it works out for everyone else. He is so convenient for me and the price is right.
