Code Reader
See
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Diagn...QQcmdZViewItem) Seems a lot to spend for a connecting cable and software package for your laptop. But then there is the time and expense of taking the car somewhere to get a code read. This all related to my earlier question about the airbag warning light coming on after a seat was removed to repair the upholstery. Living on an island and having a two hour trip each way to get to a reputable dealer or indy shop makes one think the price is not too bad, if it works as advertised.

List price $79. I ain't very technical, but think this will do what you are asking...
It is P-car specific regarding the help functions, and it can reset most fault codes. It also can log a lot of real time data, it really depends on how much you wnat to diagnose your car versus having someone else do it.
