And yet another Short Shifter Installation accomplished!
I think Eric @ plugs is having a good month on the short shifters. I went to a friend's house in order to have my B&M short shifter installed. I am fortunate to have this buddy who I like to call mechanically inclined....he races 2 different porsches and has another race car that is incredible. Does all the work himself.
Anyhow, after about an hour and half and some really good tips from this board, mission was accomplished. I was lucky b/c my shift **** came off easily with an allen nut. I did end up busting a clip that hold the side console on, but that was the only damage, and didn't matter b/c there were enough other clips to hold in the panel well.
I LOVE the way the shifter feels. It is such a difference, and really makes the car feel more sporty. I can't believe that the car comes with that shifter from the factory.....kind of odd once you feel the short shifter. Mine seems to be perfect...no issues in any gears, but then again, I had a pro helping me.
I am so happy I got this mod in my first month rather than waiting. What an improvement!!!!
Best,
Jon

Thanks Tim.....props to you for your tips!!!! THANK YOU!!! We used a sharp narrow flat head screwdriver and a hammer to knock out the teeth on the bushings.....I can't imagine anyone getting them off with a utility knife.....maybe a chainsaw...but certainly not a utility knife. You were right about the flying pieces....was kinda funny....looked like teeth when the tabs would fly around!!! LOL.
