I searched prior to posting. I previously found out how to get the ultimate sounding 964, but now that I have a 996, I'd like to know if there are any exhausts that meet my requirements and needs. Are there any exhausts out there that will give a stock 996 more a F1, Bike, Ferrari, Carrera GT howl type sound. I have heard Tubi, PSE, AP, Fabspeed etc. and they are more grumbly growly and don't have that smooth sound. I am looking for more trumpet sounding. Perhaps if I am after that type of sound, I should leave the stock sewing machine sound alone?
I was going to ask the same thing.
I would love to have that sport bike type sound.
The neighbour pulled into our street a few weeks ago in a F430.... my god that sounded so fantastic.
Kind of a whiring sound at idle and as he pulled away a high pitched raspy sound.
How do they do that ???
With the 964, you achived that sound by doing a cross over to balance out the cylinder banks. Only a few of us figured it out. No company made an exhaust that made that sound so it needed to be custom, and not that expensive either. Less than those $2000 systems. I was told FVD copied my buddy's idea and was selling a system for like 5K. Ridiculous!
I am hoping someone will chime in and knows what the trick is with a 996. I was at a Porsche track event and I heard a Boxster with that bike sound, but of course it was a race car. It really sounded like an F1 car at idle. I don't like all the aftermarket exhausts I have heard, just too grumbly.
