Default Porsche Short Shift Kit

I want to change my shifter to the short shift. I only hear good things about the factory Porsche short shift kit. Does anyone know the Part Number for a 2002 C2 996 short shift kit. Or does anyone have any insight?

not too sure on that....but I think the B&M unit is the same thing....Eric at bumperplugs has the best price for them. I have mine still in the box...my weekend project. Sorry I don't know the part number, but wanted to give you the option.

Best,
J

But he's right, the B&M is the same as the Porsche. No point confusing the guy.

You should drive a car with one, if there's any way you can manage it. It's not everybody's cup of tea. The effort is a lot higher, 1st can be reluctant when it's cold, and it doesn't really look any different (if that's your thing). With mine, I found my shifts were actually slower for awhile, until it wore in a bit and I got used to it. Now, I love it and it's completely natural. But, as I say, not everybody's cup of tea.

Not only are they the same, to be more specific, isnt the porsche factor short shift made by b&m. Some say the best mod ever.

it's a must mod - coming from an s2000, the stock 911 shift action on the 996 is horrible

The B&M is the same as the OEM Porsche so if you don't like the B&M, don't waste your money on the OEM one.

Actually, the B&M is Blue, and the Porsche is black

And the Porsche version will lighten your bank balance more

Other than that...

THEY ARE THE SAME DAMN THING!

Default OEM SSK

I believed the OEM996 SSK is made by B&M and OEM997 SSK is made by porsche. And OEM 997 SSK will fit 996. My friend mod his MY01 996 C2 with 997 SSK. It fits perfectly, you dont even have to adjust the cables. He ordered the 997 SSK from Sunset Porsche in Portland for around $430. It is a complete unit, very easy to install. If you are interested, call Jeff at Sunset. He should be able to help you.

Good Luck!

After a long debate with a buddy of mine I gave in and bought the Porsche OEM SSK. I am wondering how long of labor do you guys think it would take a shop to install that and a cf ebrake?
