So when I do the cleaning the contacts thing, do I have to take apart the buckle itself? Which parts am I cleaning?

So if it's "fixed" the airbag light goes off and remains off or must I reset it at the dealer first and then spray this thing and hope it doesn't come back on again?

I suggest you call the dealer and ask them what the fault code was (or which buckle). Then at least you know what to work on.
Clean it or replace it - then get the light turned off. I hope you are not paying to have the light turned off. It is so easy with the right tool - folks shouldn't charge for it (IMHO of course).

i just got some of that degreaser/cleaner and applied a liberal amount right inside the belt buckle - u think this is enough? i couldn't find any of the connectors underneath the seat that people speak of... i have the sport seats if that makes any diff.
