Default Horsepower Ratings

I took my 2003 Carrera 4S into Pure Tuning (Toledo) tonight to get the car dyno'd. I will be installing Cargraphic 200 cell cats & the plenum next & wanted to get a baseline. The car was dyno'd on a Mustang AWD dyno & she put out 249hp/219lbs torque. Does this seem low. I seem to remember others getting in the 290 range. Maybe it was on a different dyno. The tech explained that this type of dyno simulates a load on the car & is a more realistic gauge of HP. I appreciate others input.

My X51 dyno'ed at 290 hp w/ evo intake and fabspeed cat bypass exhaust, 250 sounds about right for a std 3.6l

I dyno'd on Saturday, got 273 rwhp at 7000 rpm, and 238 torque 4600 rpm. Completely 100% stock 2003 996 C2.

I don't know about Mustang dynos, but my 02' dynoed 270.1 rwhp stock and 292.1 rwhp with a K&N intake and a Fabspeed exhaust on a Dynojet 248C.

For a difference frame of reference, my '95 993 dynoed at 243 rwhp w/chip, open airbox, and RSR mufflers on a Dynojet.

My limited understanding is that you can't go by the raw numbers as every dyno is different. You can use it as a comparison for the relative change in the numbers with multiple runs on the same dyno, and the same conditions; or properly compensated for different atmosphere, etc. There is a long thread on this: "Do dynos show "real" HP gains?" I don't know how to give you a link to the thread.

i have included the cold/hot runs on the car. Can't wait to see what the plenum/cats will yield. Hopefully I can see somewhere around 20 Hp to the rear wheels.
