I have an 02 C4S with 31k miles right now.
I myself am a new owner who has since put on about 1.5 to 2k glorious miles. I am good with rev matching on the up and down shift and am not a fan of stoplight burnouts.

The clutch does not grab like it should when I first drive it out of the garage in the morning. The slippgae is not severe; I just have to gingerly give it that extra 10% effort to modulate throttle/clutch action.

Even after a short drive to the gym (today) 2.5 miles down the road, once the car sits for 40 mins and I start the car and move off, the clutch functions as normal. Once I start the 911 up say the next morning, same deal al over again.

I'm asking my 911 brethren here whether this is a simple adjustment or if I am in need of a new clutch or what.

Have it checked...maybe its not the clutch, throw out bearing? flywheel?

At the point of engagment I need to give it a bit more throttle and avoid letting up the clutch to quick just enough before I get forward motion... classic clutch slippage but again everything cool once car is warmed up.

Do the RPMs swing higher than normal under acceleration when your foot is off the clutch when you are experiencing the problem?

What you described sounds more like clutch grabbing.

just that point of engagement i gotta feel it out a bit more before releasing the clutch.. this is all in a span of a few milliseconds but def noticeable v. when warmed up and normal

Sounds like a slightly burned friction plate (beween the flywheel and the pressure plate). If it dosen't bother you, live with it, but next time you have it in for any service, have someone look at it.

When the car is cold, go through gears into at least 4th and give it big throttle (over about 4000 RPMs). Does the motor run away without pulling the car. If it does not, then I don't think you have clutch slippage. What you are describing doesn't sound like slippage. Sure test is WOT in higher gears.

If the clutch eventually grabs, it is most likely NOT the clutch disc or plate but the hydraulic system. May be a dirty slave or even a bad actuator arm inside the box. Have you ever bleed the sytem completely?

I would say have it looked at, I drove mine around for about 2000 miles with it slipping only slightly while waiting to have it replaced. The result was that I had to buy a new flywheel which was expensive. I too tend to think it is not the clutch but whatever it is I would find out!

, I give up, I read a couple of times and I dont understand. 10% more pedal effort when cold? Makes sense if this is the problem, the fluids are at their coldest and thickest requiring more effort. Slipping part I dont understand, you are giving it more gas to go forward?

When you let go of the clutch and push in the throttle to move, it should grab so you don't have to finesse the throttle... when cold, I have to finesse it by holding it down for a longer period or slightly giving it more gas before I fully let go of the clutch pedal... tough to describe.
