This description sounds much more like a cold engine that doesn't want to be put under load off idle. Like you have to use more RPMs to engage the clutch without pulling the motor down. Lack of power is forcing you to slip the clutch to start the vehicle when cold. Maybe power problem rather than clutch? Yes? No?

I highly doubt it's the engine, wdonovan. It drives fine once the tranny is matched up with the engine. The sensation really comes from the clutch... not sure I want to open up a bigger can of worms before I get this sucker dropped off at my indy. I appreciate you looking at a variety of other factors, though.

My engine leakdown/compression came out pegging on all cylinders during a recent PPI. It's a brand new engine only 17K miles old straight from Porsche installed at a Porsche dealership. It runs healthy.

sounds normal to me.
probaly really feeling the diffrence in power when the sai is active

secondray air injection............ the hair dryer sound on cold starts doe the clutch feel fine when the har dryer shuts off?
