Three Wheelin'
I paid 35 for a seal grey 2002 C2 in really really nice shape two months ago. I also saw my same car (except no leather int.) for 36.5 on craigslist just yesterday. These are C2's of course, but they are mark II's and as has been pointed out, they are a very popular colour. I'm not sure if the market for C4's is stronger or weaker than that for the C2. I personally wouldn't consider a C4 because of teh added weight, and because of the non-traditional road and track dynamics.
The colour is beautiful - I would love to see it on the road, or at a car meet, seeing it in my driveway however is another thing. In actual fact I wouldn't be put off by it, I really do like it, but you see my point. My wife for instance would balk. The interior is another story altogether. I don't like beige. My car is seal grey with black - boring yes, but you know it looks GREAT.
Anyway - as a recent buyer who looked at dozens of cars, and ended up with a great deal, I would value your car at $35. Any more and I'd just scroll down to the next listing. Of course you will eventually find the right buyer at $38, maybe even $40 - but like your dealer with the GT3 - this may take a very very long time. Unless you enjoy talking to dreamers and keeping your car in a "ready to show" state of cleanliness at all times, this will get old fast. Also, you have to look at your market. I bought mine basically sight unseen, but lot's of people will insist on a personal inspection, and that means a trip to MT.
Just my opinion.

as an FYI...I got them down from 42 and paid 40,200 including a brand bew set of tires all around for a 2001 C4- black coupe, 37,500 miles, black interior, with CPO on it for another year, extended that for 1.5 more years with additional after market transferable warranty for another $2K (i don't even own a set of tools- need peace of mind), bought it at a porsche dealer in NJ, 18" rims, inspection done with all fluids changed out, cd player, electric seats, sunroof, psm, rubber mats, spotless interior and very clean exterior with only few ( but as expected from a car with these miles) front end highway specks.
as it is my first p-car it was the comfort of the warranties. for the next i would consider private sales along with dealer sales, but they would have to save me a few K's. so, after looking at a bunch and freshly buying, i would say that mods add little to the selling value unless they are what the buyer would really want themselves. I would put your car at about 35K as a private sale. the color would be an issue for me personally but may be a bonus for someone wishing to get away from the silver or black versions and stand out a bit more.
hope it helps.

I am not sure what the next car is, but I am ready to start the search. I have other cars, so it makes it easy to get rid of this one and then start the search. It WILL be another P - car. I will say to all it is kinda disappointing to hear that a car I paid $44 for 12 months ago, "might" have depreciated down as far as $10k in a year. If I can get $40 for it, that would make sense, as $4k in 12 months should be expected. $10k in 12 months at this price point seems pretty steep.

With that forumula in mind, you'll be fortunate to get $38k-$39k. Keep in mind, 996's have taken a big hit in the last year, this may take you down to the mid-thirties.

That wasn't me. I sold my C4S a couple of years ago to a Rennlist member. Last I heard my old car is now in Korea!
I'm in the market for another one. I love "different" colors; hence my interest in this one.
