Default Insurance Value

Am trying to get appraised value for my mint 1999 996 w/ 85,000 miles. Car has an almost new factory engine with 8000 miles. Only option I am aware of is the traction control.
What is the car really worth.

Hard to say. The "almost new" engine doesn't matter. The miles will probably kill you on resale since most buyers are looking for "normal" miles or less on a Porsche (roughly half what you have).

As for value, without knowing the exact condition and a thorough PPI, I would say , easily in the mid to high 20's. Nobody is going to pay anything over 30K though unless that is at a dealer and that would be low 30's. Right now, 99 is that oldest model year that a dealer can CPO right now. That bumps up to 2000 when the 08's are released.

Look at the option codes on the sticker on the underside of the trunk lid. If it has 220, that's a limited slip diff and I've seen similar cars get high 20k (like 27-28k).
