No way. This was a custom interior, right?
I mean, nobody from Porsche actually sat down and decided this was a rational option to make available to their customers? Right?
On a similar ugly vein......

You're right--the temp. on the car sure seems high. Mine never runs that hot, even on a track day, and even if the ambient temp. is 87 F, like it is in that pic. A good PPI will be mandatory on that car.

I was considering buying a Silver one with nephrite interior. The plan was to buy cheao and change the interior....the damned green colour was everywhere....In the end, I thought it wasn't worth the hassle!
a complete dye or replacement job on an interior? How difficult/expensive
would it be to change something like this to black, for instance?

Why is the passenger seat more heavily worn than the driver's?
There was a similar vehicle at a local used car dealer here. White 996 cab with green leather and wood trim (yes, try picturing that...). I recall it was $6K below a similar mileage "normal" colored cab.
I don't know if they ever sold the car or auctioned it off. I've never seen it since. I remember it, because the sales person suggested that if I was interested, I could buy it for a substantial savings.
Dying the leather is expensive and it's going to come off eventually. Get the car cheap and start replacing trim pieces with black ones slowly over time. It probably won't look real bad as a two-tone black and green. ... or not.

You have to wonder why the dealership or salesman taking the order didn't intercede on that one. To each his own, but I'd never "own" that one. That's going to be a major detractor for any potential buyers....
