Adrian has provided the following information regarding these option codes:

"236, 238 mean that the originally planned tyres for the specific 996 were changed. This is an internal factory only option (not customer selected) number used for production, spares and engineering recording purposes.
Example: Pirelli tyres were planned, but they ran out or the specification was changed, or whatever and Continentals were fitted.
Option code range 226 to 239 inclusive were used for this purpose."

i've got two codes that I can't figure out: 9981 and 9991. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

What jp413384 said earlier in this thread. 09991 means you have something from the "exclusive options" list. I don't know waht 09981 means.
