Thanks.
I can see that in US there are a lot of people who usually gets "normal" tires.
In Europe P-users prefer N-specs tires.
Perhaps you used to drive on highways in straight roads...

I've used both N rated and non N rated tires on my Porsches.

I can't say that N or non N is better - I do think that some manufacturers are better than others, and some tread patterns are better than others.

I've used Toyo's on a couple of cars - so far they are top of my rating, better than P Zero (Nero or Rosso) for example.

Just so you know - we have plenty of non-straight roads here!

This satellite view shows one of my favorite local roads - just look at the twists and turns as I go North East into Palm Dessert (top right of the map)

My Y rated tires worked just fine on this road - so I think I'm safe

This is my own way to understand this philosophy

THE PHILOSOPHY
Porsche represents far more than just an unmistakable trade name. It’s the maximun exponent is the 911. Porsche is fascination. The 911 not only promises a world of experience. The myth becomes reality. Only then can you feel the power that is unique to Porsche – both active and attractive. The brand thus embodies the epitome of sporty driving and thinking. That is a real philosophy for us, the 911 lovers, pure cPorsche, pure 911. When you've have the chance to see a nine-eleven for the first time, it probably changes your way of thinking about cars. The 911 is not a simply sport car, it's the myth 911. The longing to possess a 911 could become to transform into an obsession, or a 'beautiful' chronic disease... When you are seated at the commands of a 911 and you'd switch the engine on, you'll know that there is something different. It's characteristic flat-six engine sound is telling to us that we are in a real sport car. The '911 personality', is caused by the rear engine configuration. If you want to extract the most from the car, just driving it wouldn't be enough, you'll have to ride it as a pilot. The 911-concept has been enchanting all the Porsche 911 lovers far more than 40 years, and it's really alive more than never been thought before. Its uncomparable silhouette is another one of the 911 concept's elements. There are no similitudes to any other sporty car. 911 owners don't enjoy just driving it. They have fun contemplating the car after parked indeed. In fact we are talking about a mental sickness... a chronic desease. Imagine a sunny Sunday morning, an unfrequented road mountain, both the 911 and you... It's harmony, pleasure, symbiosis, everytime closer to eden, the nirvana of senses. The fascinating sense enkindled by the myth is over the good and evil, and even the love to sport cars. It's probably something that nobody could define and the 911 drivers reach to feel when the car is being driven. Am I crazy about the nine eleven? May be, ... But God bless Ferry Porsche.

I am running 19x11 et 67 rears and 295/30/19....I LOVE that setup....handles amazing and gives a good ride....a 305 or 315 in my opinion would induce more understeer and me having a C4 I have more understeer than a C2 so I am always trying to dial that OUT, not in....also the 30 series tire puts a tad more rubber on the rim, giving me a smooter ride....so I get the 19 look, without the drawbacks of a harsher ride. There are no correct specs, but 19x8 42 front is what I run, and 19x11 67 rear with no rubbing issues....its on 235/35/19 and 295/30/19.....

Omar-
A good measure to start with is what the offsets are for your 18". I think you would love the 8" et45 for the front. But in the rear the 11" et 52 might be too far out for you. The GT3 takes 11" et63 in the rear and I couldn't imagine moving that out 11mm.

bringing this back from the dead. my victor equipment 19's arrived and the rear offset is 52 (11 rear). if they don't fit i'm going to cut myself..i'm sick and tired of trying to get rims that fit.

i asked the guys at the place that i bought them from to make sure they fit..hopefully they will fit. that was the closest matching size that i could find to my previous wheels which were ET55.

aw man you've gotta be kidding me!
the 19" rims are only offered in the following sizes:

VICTOR LEMANS 19x11 5/130 ET25 BLACK MIRROR LIP
VICTOR LEMANS 19x11 5/130 ET40 BLACK MIRROR LIP
VICTOR LEMANS 19x11 5/130 ET52 BLACK MIRROR LIP
VICTOR LEMANS 19x11 5/130 ET52 BLACK MIRROR LIP
VICTOR LEMANS 19x80 5/130 ET45 BLACK MIRROR LIP
VICTOR LEMANS 19x95 5/130 ET49 BLACK MIRROR LIP

and as i recal, Eil (FastForwardWheels) had 20's on his car for ****s and giggles and they fit with what i believe was an ET50 offset on his GT3 (or 996 with aerokit II)?

edit: even in 18" sizes..they're only showing a ET52 as the only option in the 50's ....I"M SO CONFUSED! AHHHHHH WHY IS THEIR WEBSITE SO ****TY!

Are youo sure they are 11's and not 10's? I mean I am saying I run 19x11 et 67.....I DO NOT have 15mm space. I think they will suggest you run a 275 tire, which is too small a tire and will have that stretched look...the rim will extend past the sidewall....

i will be using a 275 tire since that's what i have around and these will be street tires not for track use.

they seem to stick out a bit more than my 9ff's did...once the car was on the floor and the suspension squatting properly, there was maybe 1-2mm's of play left.

i'll try 2 get a hold of Eli (FastForwardWheels) since he's running 19"s rite now.

So, where are the pics and the specs? We still don't know what size and offset you are running. And pics would be nice. You don't want us to sick Tim on you now do you?

Quick Reply: What is correct offset for a 19" rim on a 996 C2?
