Original clutch here at 103k. Yes I drive fast and don't baby it. I do however need a clutch in the coming months, since it's slipped a few times on hard starts. It seems that once it gets pretty hot that it'll sometimes slip when hitting second gear at high rpms and full throttle.

That's really impressive. I'm up to a measly 87,000 now. I'm hoping to get 100,000 out of the stock clutch as well.

looks like you'll need a few mods b4 you hit 200k then

btw are there S/C or TT packages for an N/A C2??? and if so how much do they cost and what are the performance gains in comparison to a stock 996 TT??

I'm gonna take a picture when it turns 150k at 150mph.

There's a couple S/C kits for the N/A Carreras, and they are around 12k installed (I think, but somewhere around there). They'll give performance similar to a stock TT. I think they have less torque, so they are slightly slower- but just slightly.

well I once did 160 in the VR4, but I think I was "only" at like 130k... now I'm sitting at 152k, only problem is I'll have to wait until July 1st b4 I can drive it again being that I'm 4k+ miles away from home until then

either way, all these 100k stories keep me dreaming of the day soon that I get my own 996 and can tell ppl when I turn the clock at 100k myself!

I am currently sitting at 82,000 miles. All with original clutch, original engine, original transmission. The car looks like it is new. I do think it drives a bit better than new though.

VR4 Playa - be careful and hopefully the 4 months does not become 7 months!

I never had another occurence in mine since then, but I'm still gonna schedule a transmission service when I can find some time, and to just check out the transmission mounts as 911firehawk suggested.
I am going to check on it this weekend, didnt get to last weekend but I know now without climbing underneath and taking off the underbelly the tranny mount is KO'd. It is getting worse and shakes the car under hard launches or shifts. Since it shakes I know it isnt the axle as I thought in the past.

That's great! Congrats! Nice to hear, and gives me the warm fuzzies of confidence in my 996 also.

Very cool. I hope to follow in your footsteps but at this rate it won't be unitil 2011. Thanks for a counter to the RMS hysteria.
