Default C4S w/o litronics - How to swap bulbs for Sylvanias?

One of the semi-concessions I made in getting the C4S I picked was that it didn't come with xenons. In my past two cars spanning a good 6 yrs, both have had HIDs and it was good, but I think the projector design of the C4S lights are just fine, but I just want a lighter color (+Kelvin) for cosmetic reasons. Also, in some ways, I didn't want the litronics since then you are forced to have those two silver coin covers for the headlight washers on the unit which I prefer it without.

I know Sylvania is a reputable brand and wondering if any of you have swapped out the stock halogen bulbs for the whiter Sylvanias.

If so,

*What's the model/part/spec of bulbs I need to buy?
*Where is it sold?
*Is the bulb swap a DIY or should I have the dealer do it?

Best,
Ben

Ben,

* What's the model/part/spec of bulbs I need to buy?
a) Check your manual for the sizes
b) Do and Advanced Search on Thread Titles only using the word Headlamp = 11 Threads
c) Do and Advanced Search on Thread Titles only using the word Headlight = 72 Threads

*Where is it sold?
Do a Yahoo or Google search on Sylvania

*Is the bulb swap a DIY or should I have the dealer do it?
see a), b), and c) above.

The Search function is our friend! Hope this helps!

I did search prior to me posting this thread, but a lot of those threads are related to xenon upgrades or swapping bulbs on a pre-facelift 996.

I'm looking for input from a smaller audience '02-'04 with non-litronic lights that have swapped out for the Sylvania bulbs that are whiter in color.

I did read the manual last night so now I do know the specs.

Benjamin,

Are you talking about the Silverstars? If so, I installed them on one of my other cars and I did notice a big difference. They are indeed much whiter and visibility is better.

Click on here for your application:
http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...ce/Silverstar/

but it looks like the H7ST would fit your application

I just wonder how it'll look sitting behind the projector lenses - we'll see soon enough. Thx, all!

I like the Sylvania name better than Hoen. OEM sources from Philips and OSRAM/Sylvania. Pardon my ignorance, but I don't know about Hoen in the auto OEM space.

I used the Sylvania Silverstars from Autozone ($40 for a pair) and they work great. They are much whiter and brighter than my previous OEM ones, but I think my previous ones were getting old and dull, hence I noticed a big difference.
