Anyone running 17" 10-spoke carrera II rims - would love to see a pic of them on a 996.

Thanks,

Default Here you go....

I'm about to change to 18s. Honestly, for the 996 this 17" makes the car, particularly the front, look significantly undertired. That's just one opinion. If you want some though, I should have them available soon if I don't do a trade with Wheel Enhancement.

Regards,
Piccia

I agree. You can tell in the photo above that 17" rims make a beautiful Targa seem like a 1980's Benz (small wheel syndrome)!

Anyone use these for autocrossing? The rim width leaves a lot to be desired but the tires are cheaper than 18" ones. The total rim weight w/tire may be lighter as well (The rim weight I think is around 20lbs).

PL: you still using 18s for your daily driver?

Two rims... i am done with 18s, at least for winter. Honestly, i like the way these 17 10-spokes look... better than twists actually !

yes, as i showed to you last time, my current turbo-look 18" are badly scatched, so i could care less.

i heard the ride will be softer in 17" but i can't feel the diff.

I used to run 17" winters on my 2001... not too much difference, ride is slightly softer.

Default StevenC - I'll give a second thumbs up for that comment!

If I was a model railroader I might have pulled that off. Anyway, since I live in Nashville I'm getting 18s....but boy are people right that the tire prices are out of whack when you bump up.

Had these on the car when I first bought it

Didn't really like the look - I felt it dated the car - so up-sized to 19"

Very happy
