It's here - pics!
It's more *everything* than I expected. More cool, more fast. more raw, more better looking, more instant connection with me!
I've just joined up, but I'm not sure if I can post pictures - let's try. First the new car in my driveway, then a shot of me and the old car at Laguna Seca, and last, my first contact with the new car. That's my mom and dad who heroically cannonballed the 996 from Chicago IL to Bellingham WA in 3.5 days. I exported the car the next day (today) and within 10 days it will be licensed and we'll begin our new lives together for real.
First impressions are GREAT! I found myself laughing out loud at least three times over the 100 or so miles I drove it today. Mindblowing acceleration and every inch a real Porsche (but you already knew that).

Beautiful car! Love the wheels and just the way it looks. BTW, picked up the exhaust direction on your Laguna car. A few years back I was running a series called NASPORT. I towed all the way up with my GT-4 car to Laguna unloaded and the first session Saturday got a SOUND violation going up the hill. Tried to pack the exhaust the best I could but got another violation on the second session and put the car on the trailer and headed the 375 miles back to So Cal. I could not turn my exhausts around - UUUUU VRY SMAAAT FELLOW!
I have NEVER gone back to Laguna to race again.
I love your car, enjoy in good health and safe driving. eric

Thanks for the comments people. I guess the particulars are scarce.
The car was built in April 2002, delivered in May 2002 at Champion Porsche in Florida. Traded in to Brumos three years later, and they sold it to my PO who imported to Indiana. He had it for a year, decided he wanted a 993, and sold it to me.
No PSM, plush leather, Carbon fibre trim package, bose stereo and bixenon lights (is that the same as Litronic - I think so eh?). No rear window wiper, no heated or memory seats. It's a low option car which suits me fine. I am anxiously awaitng a chance to put it on the scales at work and me and my buddy Geoff (GNR996 to you all) will be doing so in early May I expect. He's got a fairly high optioned 2003 model (you have full power seats don't you Geoff) so it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
Anyway - just finished driving the 911 (the real 911) to it's secure underground storage space. The two cars are not really comparable. I can't believe there's a new Porsche in my carport. Do you have any idea what one of those things cost new !?!
