If anyone can guess why by this picture that this setup will not pump water wins! " A Pat on the Back". And I will post the rest of working setup.

Makes me mad I cannot post pics over at the other board, but you are getting close and I did answer your reply. And it does have coolant and is test connected to the battery.

I am assuming the in hose is on the bottom of the rad.

I think the in hose should be at the top and the out at the bottom. Unless the system is totally full, there might be air at the top ??????

Rad = Radiator. In this case air-water intercooler.

That has always been in my Tech manual.

Looks like you have an in and out to the pump and a second out to the IC. If so, all the pump is going to is pump water around the rad and pump - nothing will go to the IC.

Goes out from Res to pump then out to rad then back to Intercooler and back to Res making a loop.

Come on, this is extremely obvious why the water doesn't flow. Look at the cooling tubes. They run side to side. Look at the inlet and outlet. Who was the idiot who put outlets on both sides? Actually, it is a pretty rediculous setup to begin with. The chosen core is simply wrong. For a water heat exchanger, you should ideally have one inlet on 1 side and 1 outlet on the other side. Gravity should also be able to help with the flow, hence why the factory center radiator flows in from the top on one side and out on the bottom of the other side. Other than that, just make sure the core can flow adequately for the size of the inlet and outlet hoses.

I am curious why they didn't just use an OEM center radiator? It is a lot bigger than that little transmission cooler or oil cooler (that's what it appears to be), has much greater flow/cooling capacity and directly bolts in with factory brackets. Using the factory flush mount bumper scoop also improves the airflow over the heat exchanger with speed. This is why this is the standard setup Ruf uses on their supercharger installs.

Ok, a different direction. You are using Oil, or some other fluid. The radioator looks more like it is used as an oil cooler, or a freon cooler for aircondioning.

He already answered the question on another forum. He says that the pump is too high and it will pump air. However, he also said that he has the system vented to the atmosphere which is wrong to do. The system should be closed, filled completey with coolant and purged of air and there will be no problem with the existing setup.

So, there is no problem with the setup as shown in the picture....just a problem with his decision to vent the system.

Default Setup

I thought it would be interesting to see how a system works pressurized or not and meant for anyone improving them by adding fans, different rads etc. This is one example which is an ebay find which (I may change out later the Rad that is) is for a Ford Cobra, made by Vortech designed for SC's. I have not decided yet weather to put a temp sensor in for monitoring as yet. Remember this is a project car so anything goes here. Most of the pictures will tell the story but would like to add that filling of this system is done from the front of the car in the trunk the pump is located up front along with the reservoir. I may add pic's to this thread as I may add a electric fan on the rad since cooling is priority here in Arizona summer. PS If you try something like this Bandades are helpful.
