Default My first "mods" :)

Ok, I know this is nothing like what you master modders do to your cars but it's my first two humble mods to my baby. We all have to start somewhere.

Alu gauge rings from Erics....love the result!

and....a lock plug...which in my opinion probably is the silliest mod I've ever done to a car. I bought it so I might as well use it.

Bought bumperplugs as well but that will require drilling out the spacers that are on there now. I haven't mustered the courage yet to drill on my car so that will have to wait.

Next mod coming up is a 3.6L muffler MkII mod. Picking up a pair of mufflers from a very very nice fellow Rennlister tomorrow morning. Thanks to Chuck and Tim's awesome thread about this mod I know what to do and I'll be contacting Darin to have the mod done. Then I'll just have to find a good shop that can swap the mufflers for me. Can't wait to get this done and hear some real music coming from the back (no idea why I bought a car with the Bose system....it's never on!!!)

And no....I will not put on clear side markers. I'm figuring I'll be unique and keep the orange ones heheheh

...that's where we all start, then next thing you know you're ripping off the bumper and adding an aero kit.

Nice start!

Are you talking about the square block spacers for the front license plate? You don't have to drill them out, I just pulled straight and they came out no problem. Then the bumper plugs insert right into the hole nice and snug.

I feel really rad man with my lock plug mod Hard core dude

Oh, I can just pull them out? I carefully tried to dislodge them but I was afraid to rip off a piece of the bumper if I pulled too hard. I know, I know, I'm a sissy but she's my baby and I'm ohhh so genle with her

Thanks for the replies. More stuff to come. I'm thinking of ordering the non-smoker kit as well.

Very nice. The gauge rings look good against the black.

rings look great! What did you use to secure them?

I bought both Fun-Tak and double-sided tape. Tried the Fun-Tak first since that seemed to be the preferred method of installation from reading the posts here. It didn’t work well for me. It didn’t provide enough adhesion so I switched to the double sided tape. I cut pieces of the tape along the inside edge and then pressed it into place. The tape worked better for me and it’s solid now. See attached pic.

The only problem for me was to get the outermost rings in. It’s a tight fit and requires some force to make it go in between the gauge and the surrounding plastic.

Sean, thanks for the invitation to CCLPS. I'm proud to be member #2. We should have club meetings sometime soon. Maybe have a club convention in Vegas to discuss the benefits of colored side markers?

Make that #3. The trim rings look great. The leather dash looks good too. I'm jealous...mine is plastic.
Should we start our own amber side marker forum?

The full leather option is nice....but it's also a lot more easy to get scratches, nicks etc. Love the look but I was actually thinking today that I would prefer not to have it. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side, huh?

I love the Vesuvio color. Was looking at one today and it's a beautiful color.

Great idea Mark, we should start a CCLPS support group, have conventions in Vegas (we are all within driving distance), even print up membership cards. We need all the support we can get, the heat is really on us to change to clear side markers so it's nice to have you guys...hahahah

Nice mods...

BTW I think the CCLPS is not PPC (Porsche Politically Correct).

Maybe you guys from the CCLPS could get the CCLPS logo printed on your "pocket protectors" too!
