Little things
Little cosmetic mods to honor the spring season: rings from Eric, pedals from eBay, and crest valve caps also from eBay (freebie from pedals' seller).
Glad to have the PZeros back on. At 42/34 RR/FR they seem to be a decent compromise between grip, turn-in sharpness and minimal ride comfort. May even go 40/34 or 40/32, but will need more "testing"
Off to do some serious testing...

Beautiful car....looks almost identical to mine. I have the same rims. No clear side markers yet but I just got the rings from Erics this week. Installing it this weekend. What do you recommend for getting the rings to stick? Did you have to trim the rings at all? The outer most rings seem to require a lot of force to get in there.

Thanks, guys. Just little things, really, but I get a kick out of doing them and then proudly looking at the finished product
Swede_Matt: No need to really trim the rings, but for possibly a few very minor excess "link points" (presumably resulting from the ring molding/manufacturing process), which you can easily remove with your nails, simply by carefully following the edge of the ring with them. Before attaching the rings, make sure they all fit evenly across the entire contact area. If this is not the case, flex them carefully (don't bend!) until they reach the desired shape. For attaching them, use silicone gel, double-sided tape, or Blu-Tak (sold here in the US as Fun-Tak, I think). These are all cleanly removable, should you get tired of the rings. I used Blu-Tak and so far so good.
Dominick: I got the pedals from orangehuang531. They are not hard to install: 1) remove the rubber from the clutch and brake pedals, 2) use double-sided tape on every pedal and make sure everything is aligned properly; mark drill holes w/ soft color pencil (white is good), 3) drill holes at right angles to surface (clutch/brake are curved, so use some judgment); brake is metal, takes a little longer (use sharpest hard-metal-grade drill bit you can find), others are trivial, 4) use washer/nut whenever possible, or self-tappering screws. Whole thing took me a good 70 mins, cleaning and mandatory beer included

Just got my gauge rings done and posted some pics. Thanks for the tips. I ended up using double sided tape since it stuck better than the Fun-Tak for me.
I want some nice shiny pedals as well.....and some valve caps....and and and...I'm suspecting there is no end to this stuff?

Thanks for the comments It's my pleasure to share these little pleasures, as is appreciating others'. Rennlist is a rare repository of reliable and incredibly thorough information, as well as---and, in part, because of---an ideal playground for true Zuffenhausen aficionados. The combined sharing of technical info and emotional experience, together with an optimal dose of respectful humor and sarcasm, is what makes this a special place, sadly uncommon among most car enthusiasts forums.
Your suspicion is correct: there is no end to this. POMB (Porschus Ownerus Modus Bugus) is a permanent condition, for which there is no known cure. Spousal interference and cash flow fluctuations have been known to temporarily supress the occurrence of certain symptoms, but the full symptomatic spectrum eventually reappears. Some patients remain entirely unaware of their condition. Others are perfectly aware, but very consciously oppose any attempt at treatment.

SMG, you cracked me up big time here. Co-workers probably think I've got more than one screw loose now.
POMB sounds dangerous and very contagious. I think I caught it. I have the gauge rings installed, lock plug installed and bumper plugs go in tonight. To make matters even worse...I now have two 3.6L mufflers in the garage ready for the MKII mod.
Even reading my own post scares me. Just 3 weeks ago I wouldn't have known what PSE, PPI and MKII mod meant. I'm even member # 2 in CCLPS.....scary!!!!

Skål!
so what other options are you looking at getting?
I'm still awfully jealous of those cool pedals SMG. Love the look of them, especially with the black interior.
I'm starting to feel really sick now...I've got BOMP and a severe Rennlist addiction. I better go lay down......

Thanks, gents
I got the pedals from orangehuang531 on eBay. I bought the *then* last set (and paid for it ), but it's conceivable he will get more in the future. The pedals are very well made, and the Porsche lettering was a deciding point for me (I could have gotten the same pedals w/out the lettering for 1/2 the price ). Hope he's able to get more. Fantastic seller, very responsive and polite.
Swede_Matt -- upcoming functional mods for me include: RoW M030, PSE or Schnell/Fabspeed CAI (not equivalent, I know... will depend on budget/patience), SSK, and possibly OEM side skirts (not sure about functionality w/out complete aero package, though). Cosmetic stuff: some aluminum interior trim bits and possibly CF sills.
