Default Promised pics and yellow gunk

Took awhile to get some decent pictures but here they are.
And a question about that yellow gunk in the oil filler, WTF is it?

Thanks all, still enjoying this forum and digging my 996.

It is water mixed with oil. Condensation will form on the cooler parts of the oiling system and rise to the highest level in the system. This is extremely bad for the engine. One of the negative side effects of using pastics and having a closed crankcase ventilating system. Can be eliminated by making an illegal vent to the atmosphere in the oiling system or my driving you car longer and hotter to eliminate moisture in the oil..

Ok, that makes some sense to me, I do have a short drive to work.
Maybe an oil change real quick is in order and let the car get warmer on the way to work.

Thanks

i always let the car warm up for about 7-10 mins before i take off.... seems silly, but i feel safer that way...... although it does take up a little more gas

I always let it get off fast idle before driving it off. It only takes about a minute or minute and a half. I think that's probably more than enough.

In neutral, I use an old phonebook to hold the accelerator down so that it idles at 4500 rpm for 10 minutes before driving off. I do this in a closed garage.
