I got to thinking about this again, and remembered that my 996 had an old registration card from the previous owner in with the manual. So I checked the X5 manuals and sure enough I found an old registration card from the previous owner. Fortunately for them they still live at the same address and have a listed phone number. I gave the lady a call and she was able to describe the bracelet. It turns out it was a birthday present from her husband. Anyway, I am going to head off to the UPS store and send it to her. I would want someone to do the same if I were in her shoes.

Her husband probably got a BJ the night he gave her the bracelet. Are you going to get one, too?

He's luckier than the husband (actually a lot luckier, the husband actually had to pay for the necklace). So I bet he gets the full monte... lol

The key will be how the dealer does when you are paying the bill instead of work done under warranty. Warranty work is free money to them, the more they find, the more they make.

Great story though...

Hopefully getting tied into this thread will get my luck going back in the right direction!
