Default Just installed Recaros - The Best Mod Ever? Def one of the top 10

I was told that recaros "just won't fit" in a 996. Yeah, right. These are custom Toplines, with Beige Sasquatch leather (they're part of the Endangered Species Collection). To say they are abso-freaking-lutely the most comfortable seat I have ever sat in, and that they "make you one with the car" is a MASSIVE understatement. This is one mod I would highly recommend if you wnat to get 100% from the Porsche driving experience. Expensive? Oh, yeah, but if money's an object, we'd be in Kias.

MArk at FVD in Pompano installed them, he is a perfectionist and managed to get them in - a tight fit, admittedly - without scratching anything. They are a bit snug against the console, but function just fine. FVD is a recaro dealer, so I got to go crazy with the upgrades.. Let us hope the Wereife doesn't look too closely at the invoice.

By the way, the fan on/off switch. If you accidentally leave it on, you'll experience the joy of a dead battery.

If you're down this way, and are not a wide load, I'll happily let you try them out (not driving the car, mind you, but sitting).

Man they look comfy & color matches well too. Can you give us a ballpark of what they cost?

Nice seats...although I'm a little biased.

I love the style and all the adjustments on those seats- the color that you have there is pretty close the interior as well.

I always thought Sasquatch leather would be more of a Cocoa Brown. Guess I'll have to look a little more closely the next time I see one!

Nice looking seats! Enjoy 'em!

I can't believe they are killing Sasquatch for their leather.

Mark, nice seat choice! Do yours have the fans? That cracks me up, how Recaro calls them "air conditioned" - I guess if you have the bean burritos for lunch they can be a lifesaver.

I am really happy with them - they made the car seem even more responsive a nd the stereo sound better, too. They definitely are not for "beefy guys" if you get my drift, but they snuggle me in place like you can't believe and are so freaking COMFORTABLE. The lumbar (under leg thing cushion) is pretty awesome too. It makes me want to do a road trip.

They look good, too. Some guy in a ZO6 pulled alongside at a traffic light to get a closer look - I got a thumbs up from a Vette -- imagine that.

As for cost, let's just say I could've had a road-worthy 944 and 2 parts cars for less. But they make my butt happy, in a very manly non-Bareback Mountain way, so they're worth it. Now all I need is a Recaro office chair.

By the way, I think mine were done at FVD as well. The previous owner had them installed but I think I have the receipt somewhere. I love them as well. No question that they are the best seats out there.

Yeah, mine have the "AC" too. The heater option will wear your battery down too...ask me how I know? They are great seats. Nice upgrade.

Nice! And finally, definitive proof that Sasquatch is real. I knew it was true all along.

Great seats! Probably one of my next mods. I see that they are stowable - great, so you don't need to write off the back seats. I've further seen that the new 997 GT3 seats are stowable as well, so there's obviously a nice choice out there of 2 piece sport seats. What do they weigh compared to stock or GT3 seats?

I don't know the actual weight - I could look - but they are heavier than the stock seats by a few pounds. The extra weight is worth the cushy ride and huge improvement in "security" at speed - this seat holds you like a glove - tere is no sliding around at all.
