Question Cost of 996 turbo engine for C4S install

Does anyone know if it is possible to install a 996 turbo engine in C4S, if the mood was right to do this?

The cost of a turbo engine?

The installation cost?

Is this a stupid idea?

Any opinions welcome....thx...

There's a 996 TT engine currently listed in eBay for $17,000. I would think there are numerous additional parts that are required that may make it too cost prohibitive versus selling your C4S and buying a TT.

Default trade it....

Don't even think about starting that...either keep it stock, think SC, see price and such, and get a turbo, or go right to the turbo.

My opinion only....but getting a turbo straight out is your best option.

I wouldn't even attempt it. IMHO, you would be far better off to install a SC in your existing car or sell it and buy a used 996TT.

Just ask JimB what hassel he had to go through to convert his car from a 3.4 to a 3.6 and that's the same basic motor. The TT motor and the C4S motor don't have a lot in common beyond displacement.
