Default Can debris get sucked from the exhaust into the combustion chamber ?????

Hi,

This is all about my OEm exhaust on my 996TT... Please no need to says "get aftermarket exhaust", I just don't want to (being very disppointed after a few of them)...

I have finished emptying my cats but some few small debris (from the cats) fallen into the oem exhaust chamber itself. There is no way to reach it. When I shake the entire exhaust system, I can hear a few of them... My question is, can I install it on the car and wot it so all the debris get out ? The debris, IMO, are not larger than 1/4 inch ...

Second, can some of those debris get sucked back trough the turbos all the way into the combustion chamber ? What are my chances it get happens ?

Opening the exhaust and rewelding it is not possible. All the cats inside walls has been polished and it is not very smooth...

Thanks
Bo

you should be ok , althouh i would never recomend hollowing your cats. just dont drive the car start it up and hold it at 2k till its warm then let run at 4-5k for 5-10 minutes after that anything should be blown into the mufflers or out the tips

I thought exhaust was pretty much exit only....so you should be ok.

and yeah hollowing out your cats is bad.

It is not bad. No difference than deleting the cats providing you have cleaned them out so the flow is relatively even between the 2 sides. Whether it plays havoc with you computer system (CEL), is another matter.

i always worry about catless turbos, it seems so many dont run that well, i think alot has to do with the lack of enough pipe after the o2 sesnor to the tip, I think the cats prevent a fair about of back flow of fresh air, but its just a theory i havent had a chance to test it.
as far as the cel you probaly could.......... program the car as a row car

After I "gutted" cats, I would just run it WOT a few times and it usaully cleans out. But the P-exhaust has a lot more turns and bends to deal with so it may take more time.
