"Avis" has special Porsche rentals. But it might be that You need to pick up the car in Köln.

I have this on my to-do list also, but I couldn't find a Porsche on the sixt, Hertz or Avis websites.

... that's actually less expensive than I'd seen at another place I looked at a couple of months ago (around $1500)... also you can factor it as being less than the rental cost they use for the Treffen.

Avis rents 911's in Stuggart. Just wherever you rent -- don't expect your credit card to pick up liability/collision insurance. You need to read the contract, I added replacement value insurance directly through Avis.

When there 2 years ago, used Avis for a 996 cab. Weekend rate was ~400 us but the 1euro/km was the killer. They wanted 2 credit cards or 1 platinum. To be safe, I pony up'd for their insurance, something I never do in the states and would do it again. Even if my cc & my home auto insurance should credit - the price up front would probably do a whole lot more to alleviate headaches should something have happened.
