Hamilton

I figured some things out

to shuffle hit menu button and then "RP" key (random play)

disks 1-4 correspond to your ipods first four play list
disk 5 is all songs
disk 6 is a menu function

random play has to be reselected each time you turn off your car...but stays on if you unhook your ipod and reconnect it when you return to your car

cheers

I took mine to the dealer. CDR23. They charged me $70 to enable CDC - hmm... I told them how to do it (I was the first one asking) but they said they had to cover for the software. It took 3 min. Oh well. I have it working:-)

Only thing left is to figure out best place to get power for my more long term install. I have it in the trunk and the fiber connected to the amp (no CD). Any thoughts/suggestions where/how to tap into power appreciated. I feel a little bit uncomfertable cutting cables.

As an aside, the reason that CDC must be enabled is that the Dension/iPod unit emulates or appears to the headunit as a CDC, since there is no Dension/MOST/iPod node recognized by the headunit (MOST master) as it did not exist and is not in the S/W.
You are therefore limited to CDC functionality with your iPod.

Just the limitations of reverse engineering an OEM design.

I was charged $50 for the same 3 minutes and I, too, had to show the tech how to do it...
