You can just fold the carpet back from the top - should be just a screw in plastic plug and the rubber hood gasket holding it in place either side of the trunk.

Ill work on it tonight and take some pics with the new lights on. Do you have any idea what size socket I can use in lieu of the tool.

Ok, just got my paperwork from the dealer and no tool kit. Where on the car would it be if it were there. What are some other options. On ebay they are 200 plus shipping. HELP

Toolkit should be in the velcro pouch on the spare wheel cover

If you don't have one - then you can buy the tools you really need, like the headlamp tool, separately from the dealer. Should be around $14 for the tool.

The other part you'll want to have in the car is the screw-in tow eye, in case you ever need a tow.

That's $15 or so from the dealer

You can then unclip the bulb cover at the back of this pod, and replace the bulb(s). (Don't touch the bulb with your fingers!!)

Refit by sliding the pod onto the rails you'll see in the wing, push home and lock in place using the key. It should snap in place as you rotate the key back.
Just wanted to resurrect this thread with a quick question. I'm going to change bulbs tomorrow. What's wrong touching the lamps? I don't think I've been that careful when doing the same on my Nissan.

You don't want to touch the glass part of the bulbs as the oils from your skin will adheare to the glass. This causes a hot spot on the glass when the bulb it lit, which in turn can cause it to fail prematurely.

Be careful if you are using "HID" or "xenon" lights off ebay. In some cases these can melt your headlight lens. I got lucky and caught it early enough. The ones I used were 6700 or so. The temperature limit is much lower. You have been warned.

I think I'm going to go with OEM or maybe Sylvania Silverstar at Autozone.

Always a good idea to go over the bulb with alcohol just in case.

I went with the Sylvania Silverstar H7 12V 55W ... they are much whiter and brighter than what I originally had.
