Problems with my Tiptronic
A couple months ago I had an isolated event where I received a "gear not engaged" warning or something similar after shifting into reverse (the car was engaged in reverse and was moving) with the "4th" gear light flashing. Only happened that one time.
Now, on the drive into work today, I was stopped at a light with the transmission in 2nd. When I pushed the accelerator, the transmission acted as though it was in neutral (engine revved, but no car movement). Gear indicatior said "2". I shifted into "N", then back to "D", and all was normal again.
I made an appointment with my local dealer, but I am am hoping to get some input as to what might be the problem just in case the dealer has a tough time figuring it out. 99firehawk suggested a cable adjustment after the reverse incident (thank you Brad), and I'm thinking this could be a Tiptronic control module (computer) issue for the 2nd gear-neutral thing. Any ideas?

Thanks Brad. I was waiting for something else to happen before I take the car in for service (just a little hassle in bringing the car in for service) -- and this incident is just that something. No flashing "4" indicator light this time. Sounds like both incidents may be related, since the first time the car was in "R" but it thought it wasn't, and this time it thought it was in "D" but it was actually in neutral. I'll let you know what they do. Thanks for the input.

They come from the Tiptronic G100 Diagnosis section of the service manual.
