Question Knocking with turning

Now that it has been colder outside, i have noticed that when i turn the wheel fully in either direction, a knocking noise is made. Only at low speeds. Can feel it through the steering column. Noticed this post on Renntech, and there is a TSB on this for 05 models
Has anyone had this problem on 04 models?

Sounds like CV joint perhaps - what was the TSB about for the 05s?

Brad, you think CV is a possibility here? Maybe a damaged CV boot lost all it's lube?

C'mon, need more info. What type of suspension, how many miles, does it occur on flat surfaces or in and out of driveways or going into or out of a turn?

Are we safe to assume it is a C4?

Thanks for all the replys - mine is a C2 with 15 K miles
It sounds like a "thunking" noise coming from the suspension/front wheels.
It does not occur when at a stop and turning the wheels fully side to side
It is noticable only when turning at 5 - 10 mph, and only when the wheel is almost at full lock to either side.
Checked the power steering fluid level, when hot, it registers between the cold and hot marks

does it go thunk thunk thunk thunk as the wheel goes round, or just one thunk as you get to full lock?

Thunk thunk thunk as you near full wheel lock, but not when wheel straight and starting to turn

I've had a few cars do this when shod with hard warm weather tires in cold weather. As the wheels are turned, they are no longer parallel to each other. The outside(of the turn) wheel attempts to hold traction as the turn radius decreases. It then slips or jumps to compensate similar to a shudder. Is this what you are experiencing?

I'm still thinking a failing CV joint, thunks as the wheel turns, but only when at hard lock.

Would the sway bar thunk thunk thunk like that Brad?
