What turned me off was the reference to the tires being developed for sport sedans and sport coupes.

What was your issue with the Toyos? I've only heard good things, including from some club racers, and I like them so far. Haven't been on the track with them yet though.

Who knows if there is anything wrong with them. Personally I like the engineering approach towards noise cancellation. Need more info on how they perform in rain, dry pavement and on the track.

Mr. C4, any details on why you hate the Toyos so much?

I've had the t1r's on for the last 7K and am happy, I haven't done any track only auto X. The only thing I have to compare the to on the 996 are contis.

I felt that the sidewall of the T1R was too soft and not capable of handling the load of the GT3 chassi and the car behaved very "squirmy". I tested various different settings and tire pressures but without improvement. I am however very pleased with the R compund RA1 and R888 from Toyo.

I see. I look forward to my first event with the new tires. However, I probably won't be driving as hard as you were, not to mention I don't have a GT3, so these tires should outperform the Contis I have been running.
